Telugu Desam Party Senior Leader Yerran Naidu dies in Road Accident


The senior leader and Politburo member of Telugu Desam Party, Sri. K. Yerran Naidu died in a road accident near Ranasthalam in Srikakular District in Andhra Pradesh.   The car in which he was travelling collided with a truck at 02:00 AM on Friday,  2nd Nov,2012.

Yerran Naidu is former Union Minister died in a road accident in near Srikakulam in the early hours of Friday, 2nd November,2012.    The car in which he was travelling hit an oil tanker around 2 AM and he died while undergoing treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Srikakulam.  He received serious injuries on his chest and all the efforts of the doctors to save him failed.

Several other people including the district Telugu Desam President Choudhary Narayanamurthy were also injured in the accident.

Yerran Naidu who is fifty six years old was returning from Vizag to his village after attending a funeral and a wedding and the accident took place while returning.  

Yerran Naidu is a Law Graduate started his political career in th eyear 1982 when he joined Telugu Desam Party of N.T.Rama Rao.   He was elected to the Assembly four consecutive times before he was shifted to national politics.  Once again he was elected for Lok Sabha four consecutive times and became Union Rural Development Minister in United Front Government in 1996.

Leaders of several political parties expressed shock over the death of Yerran Naidu.  Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chair person Sonia Gandhi condoled death of Yerran Naidu.

Governor of Andhra Pradesh,  ESL Narasimham and Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, Dy. Chief Minsiter, Damodar Rajanarasimha, Tamil nadu Governor K.Rosaiah and several other leaders condoled Naidu's death.  TDP President, N.Chandra Babu Naidu who was on 'Padayatra' programme in Mahaboobnagar District rushed to Hyderabad to board a flight to Visakhapatnam.   Chandra Babu Naidu said Yerran Naidu's death is a huge loss to Telegu Desam Party. 

YSR Congress Party Honorary President, YS Vijayamma, TRS Chief K.Chandrasekhara Rao, BJP leader M.Venkaiah Naidu and many other party leaders condoled the death of Yerran Naidu.

Yerran Naidu is survived by wife, a son and a daughter and his last rites were performed with full Government honors  at Nimmada village on saturday.
